The Ichamama wet mill is part of the Othaya Farmers’ Cooperative. Their slogan is “Empowering Coffee Farmers Through Value Addition”. The coffee is grown by 1100 farmers, 300 of which are women. Their farms are often on small plots of land, many of which are less than acre of land. The coffee itself is grown on the eastern slopes of the Aberdares Mountain Range. Not only is this coffee remarkable in flavor, but the Othaya Cooperative works to create a wonderful community to support and create a better life for their farmers and members. It with our support that allows cooperative such as these and their members to thrive.
Our house roast for this Kenyan coffee is on the medium light side. This Kenya coffee is so vibrant and bright while the silkiness of the coffee allows us to really showcase those qualities while keeping this coffee in balance. This coffee is also great as a medium roast.
